Carl G. Gosman, Jr. of Indianapolis, died Thursday, May 6, 2010. Carl was born in Butlerville, Indiana on December 5, 1940 to Carl G. Gosman Sr. and Cleta Mae Mckinney Gosman. Carl retired from Holloway House. He served our country in the U.S. Army. Carl married Crystal Leohr in 1982 and she survives. He was a member of the Beech Grove Wesleyan Church. Carl was a member of the Indiana Gospel Music Association, he wrote many southern and country gospel songs. His family called "The Gosmans and Papa Carl" traveled and sang gospel music for 15 years. He also sang solo for a number of years. Carl was featured in the Indianapolis Star for his music work in 2009. Surviving with his wife are his mother, Cleta Mae Gosman; six sons and daughters-in-law, Leonard Gosman, Carl E. and Kelly Gosman, Darryel and Danita Gosman, David and Debbie Gosman, Bobby and Cathy Bane and Billy Bane; two daughters and sons-in-law, Beth Ann and Paul Shepherd, and Donella and Terry Hammon; 18 grandchildren and several great-grandchildren; three sisters and brothers-in-law, Letty Jo and Rudy Day, Lora Jane and Oren Oldaker, and Judith Ann Gosman; and one brother-in-law, Ronald Leohr. Family will receive friends from 4-8 p.m, Monday, May 10. Funeral service will be at 10:30 a.m., Tuesday, May 11 at Forest Lawn Memory Gardens and Funeral Home, 1977 South State Road 135 Greenwood, IN 46143. Burial to follow with military graveside rites at Forest Lawn Memory Gardens. Memorials may be given to charity of choice.
